Telling restaurants what they cannot serve.
Becuase a city council member has animal rights issues - restaurant owners have to pay the price. There is a market for this product but that does not matter. If you have issues with foie gros then do not eat it. But do not tell others that they can't.
Remember the good old days when we had choices in the country.

Just remember when you say something like this to blame the lobbyists and not the government. The government doesn't give a shit about force-fed geese, they just care about votes and campaign contributions. The undue influence of lobbyists on the government is what happens when you open government functions up to free markets - any private charity with good enough add campaigns can get money and supporters, and use that to influnce politicians, with almost universally calamitous results.
Remeber this legislation next time someone tells you that 'money is speech' when opposing campaign finance reforms.
