Those were the days. How about instead of mandating private businesses to use something they might not want to use- maybe businesses that think it is a good idea can put it on their menu as an OPTION.
Just a thought

I just will never understand why someone elses issues should be burdened on to me. I have no issues if someone does not want trans fat - good for them - but what if I do. Why do I have to have my choice taken away. There are probably restaurants in New York that do not use trans fat - so these people have choices on where to go eat. Right now I have choices as well. If this bill is passed then I no longer have choices and the supporters of this bill still do. So what we are talking about her is taking away peoples choices. Why would a country built on the whole idea of Freedom and the ability to do almost anything you want as long as you are not hurting others say this is okay. And dont give me the crap that the owners of this trans fat are hurting people. People are choosing to eat at these places and understand that all of it is not good for you. It is called moderation. You know what - even if someone wanted to eat out everyday and understood the consequences that is their choice. My life is not impacted because Billy eats out at restaurants everyday.
There is just so much of this - we need to protect people crap that I am honestly starting to get upset.
No more trans fat - no more smoking - no more super size - eventually we are all going to have to be eating the same and livig the same all according to some higher officials becasue our health needs to be protected. These goverment officials must be convinced that we are all idiots and need to have our choices taken from us becuase if they were left up to us we would screw it up.
I hope one day there will be a snap back to all of this and my ability to choose is present again.
Careful who you rail against man- government officials don't give a hit about any of this, special interest loddyists are the ones who get all this passed, and you're the one who thinks that campaign contributions are free speech.
The city council had to vote on it right. Hence I rail on them if they even want to debate it - and I will rail on them harder if they pass it
Basically I will rail on anyone that thinks this is a good idea.
