High Schools are Treating their Students Unfairly

Why am I supposed to feel bad for Johnny? Not every kid is supposed to be on the varsity squad. Not every student is cut out be on the team. That is why their is for fun leagues, and clubs to join. I never made it onto the varsity basketball team - (now that I think about it, that explains a lot). This goes back again to PROTECTING THE CHILDREN. We need to be careful not to hurt anyones self esteem. Think of the devasting effects. What we need to do is make sure every kid should get the chance to play on the varsity team. All the varsity players should get trophies and then they should all be taken by a top college and given a full ride - they should all play at least one game and then get drafted by the NFL. Seems logical when you think about it.
Also is school the only place these kids can excercise or join teams. There is not a local YMCA or something. Why is it always the schools job- when does personal responsibility come into play here?
