The Power of People

-who can develop this technology and the people who will then use it to help fight crime. The human mind will not be denied.

It's a lot like having a security cameras put up all over the city.

This is my favorite line:

"The more information that the police have and the more quickly that they get it, the more likely that they are going to fight a crime. "

Otherwise it's just too much of a hassle you know?

Those security cameras are always there - people can learn not to do stupid stuff when cameras are there. Numerous people have cell phones with video or picture quality. People probably are not thinking about others being able to tape stuff with thier phone.
Many news stories today are captured with Cell Phone footage (Sadam execution, plane crashing into ocean, baby falling from apartment window).
Also I am guessing the amount of money it costs for each of those cameras is very expensive. The technology for recieiving this camera footage probably cost some cash but not as much. And to put up cameras up on every block or every business, is not only expensive, but its also an eye soar. Like them damn wind power machines. Also this makes people feel empowered - like they can help the community. Police cameras make it feel like goverment is always there and interfering with your day to day life. - feels like spying.
