People should be free to choose what is best for themselves as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others to do the same. I created this blog to discuss issues I have with big government, liberal media, and to talk about my support for capitalism and the Iraq War.

"Edwards said the United States should offer a serious package of economic incentives and make it public, “so the Iranian people, who have not been historically anti-American, know that we’ve made this offer ... and hopefully drive a deeper wedge between a radical leader (Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) and his own people.”"
Man, NOT alienating the civilians who are currently ok with America when we eventually overthrow their corrupt extremist government. That sure is some crazy talk right there.
Yeah the reward system has worked so well with defiant leaders (North Korea much). Your boy Clinton made that work so well. And yes now Bush is doing the same thing. Dont see how that works. We have asked the Iranian president numerous times along with the UN to stop enriching uranium. He says no. He kicks out the UN inspectors. And Edwards and you want to reward him. WTF are you all talking about.
"and hopefully drive a deeper wedge between a radical leader (Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) and his own people.”"
Yeah that sounds like rewarding defiant leaders alright.
I hate to admit it, but Diatribe is right. If another country won't do what we want, we should bomb the shit out of it until they do. That way, all their citizens will love America.

Edwards: "Perhaps the Greatest Short-Term Threat to World Peace Is the Possibility That Israel Would Bomb Iran's Nuclear Facilities"
Hillary Spot reader Michael points out this little gem in Peter Bart's column on John Edwards' comments in Hollywood:
There are other emerging fissures, as well. The aggressively photogenic John Edwards was cruising along, detailing his litany of liberal causes last week until, during question time, he invoked the "I" word — Israel. Perhaps the greatest short-term threat to world peace, Edwards remarked, was the possibility that Israel would bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. As a chill descended on the gathering, the Edwards event was brought to a polite close.
Really? Israel is the biggest threat? Not Ahmedinijad? Not al-Qaeda? Not a coup attempt in Pakistan? Not a complete breakdown in Iraq drawing in the Saudis, Turks, and Iranians?
Or, you know, perhaps not.

So - according to Edwards Israel in the dangerous one. Iran is just the innocent victim that we need to TALK to. That is awesome
Perhaps he was referring to the fact that if Israel acted pre-emptively it would bring in other countries in the middle east and, voila, World War III is born. In a nuclear age, a world war is a pretty ominous event.
At least Iraq no longer has weapons of mass destruction.
