Man Sentenced to 240 Years Behind Bars
Without murdering anyone. I am on the fence about hate crime punishment. Though I agree this guy should be off the street for the rest of his life - Why does a guy who did murder someone get less time than him? Why does a rapist get less time than him? Why does a child molester get less time than him?

I've always been very much against hate crimes legislation, because it's convicting somebody of a thought crime, which I don't think we could be doing.
Now I recognize there's a problem with my stance on this because I'm also ok with someone commiting premeditated murder having a longer sentence than someone committing a crime of passion. I guess to reconcile this I'd say that I'm ok with evidence of racism/etc being used as evidence of premeditation... maybe? I dunno.
