People should be free to choose what is best for themselves as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others to do the same. I created this blog to discuss issues I have with big government, liberal media, and to talk about my support for capitalism and the Iraq War.

Yup, this is the clearest example of why you want government regulation- to break up monopolies and cabals.
It's a pity the market isn't 'free' anymore, now that the government stepped in.
I would be okay with some government intervention if it was to foster competition. Problem with this current situation was the fact that people have no choice in their subscription services. No choice = business does not care so much about customer.
Now there are some monopolies (Radio and TV corportation) that may own most of the market but they still have competition. I should know I worked for one. But we got to big and sell of some of our parts.
That is not what is happening with Internet service. A business cant fail if there is nothing to compete with it.
Hence I would not be okay if the goverment got involved with my previous employer and forced them to give up some stations.
So if a single cell phone provider was providing service to every person in the country except for the citizens of a tiny, 100-person town in the middle of the Nevada desert, you would say that there was still competition going on and the government doesn't need to step in?
if not, where/how do you draw the line?
