Chicago Violence Escalates

32 people have been shot this weekend alone here in Chicago. All the gun legislation and stop the violence speeches are not getting the job done. We need outside the box solutions.

What are the current gun laws there?

"Chicago does not allow the registration of handguns, which has the effect of outlawing their possession, unless they were grandfathered in by being registered before April 16, 1982.[42][43] Additionally, Cook County has banned assault weapons and magazines that can hold more than ten rounds of ammunition.[44] Other municipalities have also enacted various firearm restrictions.[45] Lack of preemption makes it difficult to travel throughout Illinois with a firearm while being sure that no laws are being broken.

Chicago: Chicago bans possession, retail sales, and private sales and/or transfers of handguns and also bans the sale and/or transfer of certain types of handgun ammunition. It also requires that all other guns legally possessed be registered.

Its not out of the box thinking but it will probably help. The city should not prohibit it's citizens constitutional right to own firearms. Seeing as, you know, its in the constitution and what not.

People would not put up with a city passing laws that racially discriminate because that would be in violation of the constitution. Why do people put with constitutional violations to the second amendment?
