Shhh! Do Not Tell Anyone This

Iraq violence is at a four year low. Keep it to yourself though. Otherwise the terrorists will win.

"the number of attacks has dropped to about 300 a week from 1,600 in June."

Wow, only 300 atacks by militants per week... nice. Of course, it was zero before we invaded, but hey, let's hear it for redifining our goals and then declaring a win.

The "none of this would have happened if we did not invade argument" gets us nowhere. It is possibly the most annoying argument ever because it does not get anything done. Even if we did invaded under false pretenses or a lie or just for shits and giggles - it does not matter anymore - we need to fix what we screwed up and win this fight. All this talking about the past crap gets us nowhere. Come up with something that actually helps before making another stupid comment like that.

Well, we could leave.

Seriously though, maybe now that attacks are down we can find those silly WMD's we've been looking for.

And by the way, Bush's rebranding of the war to the "Front on the war against terror" doesn't help either.

I didn't know we changed our goal of winning to merely reducing militant attacks to 300. Must not of got the email.

You've said before that Bush did the right thing by starting this war. As long as you continue to say that, I'll continue to say why the war shouldn't have been started. Otherwise we may some day start another unneccesary war without fully having discussed the consequences and implications of this one. We need, as a nation, to learn from this experience. So no, I'm not going to just say 'oh well, let's move on, nothing worth talking about there I suppose.'

Of course the war is worth talking about and discussing. But bringing up stuff that has NO IMPACT on what should be done now has no bearing. Like talking about there was no WMD's has no impact on what we should be doing now. Saying we should have never went in there in the first place has no impact on what we should be doing now. Stop giving out one line Obama talking points and start coming up with real solutions on what should be done now.
