These Students Have The Right To Be Upset

Cops telling students their classmates are dead was way out of line.

Is it way out of line if it saves a life?

Hey Nuclear your daughters were killed last night.
I come tell you a few hours later that actually they are okay and I did this because it was for your best interest (may have saved your life one day). You tell me. Think you might be pissed off.

meh, your example is comparing apples and oranges.

If I were in a demographic where I was prone to drinking and driving, or if I was a known drunk who frequently drove home from the bars, this might be the type of thing that would wake me up to my abuses and change me.

You're example with my daughters is just being a dick and really has no discernible lesson behind it.

It is not about drinking and driving. It is about telling people that someone close to them is dead and that not being the case all in order to prove a point or to make a statement. That is just plain wrong.
So my argument does hold up. I am not trying to be a dick at all. I am just showing how fucked up it is to use the lie of somebody telling you that someone close to you is dead. Who gives a fuck what point they are trying to get across - I can never think of an apporpriate instance where somebody could tell me Kim has died and then a few hours later say - I just lied to you but it was for your best interest so we could prove point X. I would go fucking ape shit on them and not care at all about point X. And so would you. Anybody with a heart would.

Yeah, this is a super fucked up thing to do. I'm perfectly fine with those responsible in the police department and school administration getting sued for emotional distress. But definitely fired.
