People should be free to choose what is best for themselves as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others to do the same. I created this blog to discuss issues I have with big government, liberal media, and to talk about my support for capitalism and the Iraq War.

From what I can tell, linking Obama with Ayers would be akin to linking you with that guy you worked with who killed a guy in a barfight.
It's something that happened way in his past, but your paths have now crossed...
Yep, it's pretty clear to me that you support killing guys in bars because of your past associations with that guy.
Have I mentioned that I'm REALLY looking forward to November 5? These attack ads on both sides of the national campaign (and even more so the local campaigns) are getting ridiculous.
There is close to a fair point you got there. But Obama took advice from this guy on how to improve education. They were not only on the same board together but Obama would call meetings together and make sure Ayers was there. Ayers was like an advisor to Obama for a time period. It was not like I was seeking advice from a guy I worked with. He was at the same restaurant I worked at - we were not creating policy. It goes to Obama's character and judgement. Would you want to take advice and create policy together with someone who has no regrets (except that he wishes he did more) about bombing the capitol and pentagon. At least the dude I worked with did his time in prison, feels horrible about what he did, and is trying to get his life back together. So it is a bit different.
"But Obama took advice from this guy on how to improve education."
Yeah, how dare Obama take advice from someone who might know how to improve something.
"They were not only on the same board together but Obama would call meetings together and make sure Ayers was there."
Yeah, when you're on a board with someone and you call a meeting, it's commonplace to request that everyone on the board be present at said meeting.
"Ayers was like an advisor to Obama for a time period."
Now, this I really don't know so bear with me... Was Obama aware of his past when Ayers was "like an advisor"? and then when Obama realized his past he severed the ties?
"It was not like I was seeking advice from a guy I worked with. He was at the same restaurant I worked at - we were not creating policy."
Lies, damn dirty lies! You mean to tell me that you never asked him what the best way to slice cured ham was? or how to make a tasty pizza? or how much change to give a customer when he pays for a $6.87 order with a 50 dollar bill?
"It goes to Obama's character and judgement."
Fair point here, but I'm more inclined to say this is just muckraking by McCain's political machine than an actual issue. I would think that if their ties were closer that even your liberal-biased MSM couldn't ignore it.
"Would you want to take advice and create policy together with someone who has no regrets (except that he wishes he did more) about bombing the capitol and pentagon."
I'd probably think twice about it, but if he was an expert in his field, I wouldn't mind asking his opinion on the matter.
"At least the dude I worked with did his time in prison, feels horrible about what he did, and is trying to get his life back together. So it is a bit different."
Kind of like how America is doing our time the past 8 years, many feel horrible and it, and now we're trying to get our lives back together as well.
