I Support This Teacher
I do not think this teacher was making a political statement. Rather getting his class to debate a serious topic. Unless the school has a policy against this, I do not think they have the right to remove him. It seems to me that the school is being too damn sensitive to the issue and they are trying to protect those frail and scared little children. If one kid has issues with it, then something MUST BE DONE to protect that kid. Who cares if all the other kids understood the point.

Why is it disrespectful to you? Why cant burning a flag be just as patriotic as saluting it? Isnt that a reason why our country is the best?
The flag stands for all of the freedoms we have. One of those freedoms is the right to protest. And I can show the love I have for this country by protesting and burning a flag. That does not make me less patriotic or less of an american than the person who salutes it. To me it can show the love I have for this country.
And your majority argument blows. Just becuase more people than not think it is disrespectful does not make it so.
Then I guess the argument ends - becuase i love this country more than anyone I know and if I burned a flag today for a cause I feel strongly about I would not feel any less patriotic or unamerican.
Now I do agree there are those who burn it to say this country blows - and that is negative. Though I am not for that - it should not be against the law.
Can we still be friends?
