Goverment Telling Parents How To Raise Their Kids

Once again - goverment thinks they know better than individuals. This bill is to protect children from parents who are stupid, becuase you must be an idiot if you smack your child. Talking is always the answer. This is just another example of those who feel morally superior believing their own personal views should be the views of everyone else and if parents do not want to obey well they can be arrested or fined. The best part if parents who are arrested will be required to take a class on parenting. And I am sure these morally superior people think they are doing California a great justice. I just see these people standing on some podium with their hands on their hips, red cape on, and hair blowing in the wind.

Dude I agree this bill (which has no chance of passing) sucks, but can you work on a more believable rhetoric? Isn't it possible this woman is just repulsed by the idea of someone punching a 2-year old and felt a moral imperative to stop that from happening while she was in a position to do so?

Punching a two year old is allready against the law - it is called child abuse. Slapping a kid on the ass is a whole different ball game

Best line in the article:

``And if you never hit a cat,'' Lieber said, ``you should never hit a kid.''"

This is going to be that type of bill (if somehow it passes) that's along the lines of a bill in South Dakota that says males are not allowed to have a visible erection in public. It's just another bill to be ridiculed.
