People should be free to choose what is best for themselves as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others to do the same. I created this blog to discuss issues I have with big government, liberal media, and to talk about my support for capitalism and the Iraq War.

Well, I'll be glad to see a test case at least.
Just out of curiosity: if it turns out all of this somehow works great and everyone involved is happy about the whole thing, would you still be against it? Trying to distinguish between your pragmatic vs moral objections.
If everyone was for it then they be doing it on there own allready. They would not need big government telling them how to lead their lives. If big government wants to suggest it - fine. But punishing those who do not go along with it. CRAZY
Not everyone will be for it. You could have some type of program that gives each citizen $1,000,000 for free and some moron would be pissed just for the sake of being different.
Diatribe, I agree with you in principle on the "If everyone was for it then they be doing it on there own allready." comment, however, if it is prohibitively expensive, even if everyone was for it, they may not be able to afford to make the changes.
Just so we're clear, I think it's a great idea in theory, but impractical to mandate at a federal level, especially if you're talking retroactively making changes. An option more practical would be giving tax breaks to those who make efforts to make their homes more "green".
