But who needs to talk about success in Iraq, it is such a downer. Yahoo news is on it, MSNBC kind of talks about it. Come on CNN - where are you? I wonder if CNN would take this long reporting it if there was a 50% increase in Civilian deaths and if this was the highest amount if US Deaths for the past 2 years?
Update - It is now 2:30 pm and still nothing from CNN. Wait for it .......wait for it.
Update 2 - It is now 5:00 and still noting - but there top story right now is Britney Spears - so that must be important.
Update 3 - It is official - CNN will not be reporting this story. Honestly now - those who support CNN - why is not reporting this story okay with you? Thank god there top story now is how the members of Blackwater are Terrorists.
Update 4- CNN Pundit asks why success in Iraq is not getting enough attention. God bless this guy.

Isn't it clear to you? CNN obviously hates America.
Just read the Blackwater link you posted.
So you're saying that an American company who is paid by the American government to protect American interests who is undermining what the US military is doing by randomly shooting people is not newsworthy?
If anything you should see this story as CNN helping the US military accomplish it's goals of victory by bringing to light those who would create hatred toward America through nefarious means. See, CNN does love America after all.
The headline for the Blackwater story was "Blackwater employees were the terrorists."
So CNN found it more important to call American workers terrorists then to report on how well the month of Septermber was four our troops.
Just like they found it more important to talk about Britney Spears earlier in the day.
To address your point though - What Blackwater is doing is newsworth - especially if they are killing people for no reason (hard time beliving that though) but it appears more newsworthy about Iraq success. But CNN choose not even to write anything about it. No where on the website was it mentioned. There were about 30 other stories they found more important than that one. Just sad
I'm a bit concerned about your cavalier attitude towards the Blackwater stories. You have a valid point in saying that CNN reported dozens of other stories and nothing about the casualty figures- you don't need to minimize the importance of Blackwater incidents in order to make your point.
"So CNN found it more import
virtue of working for an American corporation makes it impossible for you to be a terrorist? Most murderers in the US are 'American workers', it's not clear what this has to do with whether or not their actions are criminal or terroristic.
"especially if they are killing people for no reason (hard time beliving that though)"
Again, why do you have a hard time believing this? Would you agree that people in war zones around the world kill people for no reason all the time? If so, why do you think these Blackwater guys would be any different? Just by virtue of being employed by an American corporation ?
These cavalier attitudes are what make liberals/democrats constantly feel the need to challenge our assumptions about the US always being the good guy and all our actions being justified.
You can believe that this war is justified and the US is the best country in the world, and still be outraged at American corporations or military actions that are criminal and wrong. They're not mutually exclusive- and people acting like they are is what scares the crap out of me.
Looks like I screwed up part of my last post, here's what it should have said:
So CNN found it more important to call American workers terrorists then to report on how well the month of Septermber was four our troops."
Are you saying that the simple
virtue of working for an American corporation makes it impossible for you to be a terrorist? Most murderers in the US are 'American workers', it's not clear what this has to do with whether or not their actions are criminal or terroristic.
Of course those Blackwater people can be the bad guys in a situation. I am sure some things they have done over there have not been good. I am sure some of those employees have been jack asses and dont things they should not have. Hence all those get fired. I have read that over 100 some employees have been fired over there. But does it make much sense when you are protecting a convoy of diplomats (going as fast as possible through the streets to stop and open fire on innocent people. They obviously perceived some threat and took action. Now it could be possible it was one jack ass on the team who was having a bad day or is psychotic and he opened fire causing the rest of the team to percive a threat and open fire. Does that make Blackwater employees terroritsts? Come on. Terrorists implies they have a set mission to terrorize people. Blackwaters mission is to protect diplomats and supply trucks.
With all this being said - even it were true that Blackwater was the aggressor on this situation - it does not make it right for CNN to make this the top story and not report at all on how well our troops did this month.
"I am sure some of those employees have been jack asses and dont things they should not have. Hence all those get fired. I have read that over 100 some employees have been fired over there."
I wonder if everybody who gets fired finds another job with another US contracted private security firm within 3 weeks like this guy did?
...But at least he was fired for killing the Vice President's personal body guard. We can be assured that he won't be working as a private security contractor ever again... at least with Blackwater...
