People should be free to choose what is best for themselves as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others to do the same. I created this blog to discuss issues I have with big government, liberal media, and to talk about my support for capitalism and the Iraq War.

I would have no problem with this if the government also compensated those of us who have and maintain a healthy weight. I doubt that would happen though.
There's lots of things they won't do to protect us; for instance, they'll never jeopardize their political careers by ending corn and sugar subsidies, which is what would actually decrease obesity in this country.
Honestly the idea that we live in a nanny state, when the government is so clearly controlled on all substantive levels by special-interest groups who rarely have teh average citizen's best interests in mind, is almost laughable. Don't even talk about living in a nanny state until we have universal healthcare.
I will talk about living in a Nanny State all day long. Universal Health Care will just be another example.
You were saying something about not being in a Nanny State
