Racial Diversity in Sports Confuses Me

When they talk about Baseball they mention all the time that the number of African American players is dropping. More importantly they talk about what should be done to get more African Americans to play the sport. But you never hear about how the number of white people in the NBA is at an all time low and how they need to increase those numbers. Why is this?

Is it because baseball is a struggling sport that's looking for any type of controversy to stir up interest, or because basketball has no trouble getting white fans but baseball has trouble getting black fans? I honestly have no idea, I don't follow sports, but I'd be looking for a marketing motive.

That is a good theory. Never thought about that.

If I recall correctly, they usually bring these numbers up around Jackie Robinson day (or whatever it's called) because, as a black man, he broke the racial barrier and now the numbers of black players are dwindling.

I didn't read the article, but I'd be curious to see what the overall racial numbers are now. I bet that the number of white players is down as well and the number of hispanic players is up.
