People should be free to choose what is best for themselves as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others to do the same. I created this blog to discuss issues I have with big government, liberal media, and to talk about my support for capitalism and the Iraq War.

Do you have the figure of what percent of our total national income is made by those making over $100,000 a year? I bet it's over 82%.
Also, talk about fucking lying with statistics:
"Those with incomes below $40,000 paid no federal income taxes at all in the aggregate. The positive liability for those who paid anything was more than offset by tax rebates from the Earned Income Tax Credit for many more who paid nothing. In total, the EITC put $41 billion into the pockets of low-income workers in 2005, 91 percent of it being paid to those with no income tax liability. However, according to the Tax Foundation, three-fifths of Americans believe that it is wrong for anyone to pay no taxes at all, that everyone should pay something to finance the government."
He says that everyone paid taxes, but some people got credits for specific things got a lot more than they paid, enough that the aggregate between them and a whole bunch of people who paid and got nothing comes out to zero. Then he says everyone in that group paid nothing. References shitty arguments like this seriously hurts your position.
Ana and I both earned under $40,00 in each of the last 2 years and I can tell you we paid plenty in taxes. If you want to attack the EITC then do it directly.
Also he says the public doesn't think people should pay 'no taxes at all' when even his shitty argument only applies to income taxes, whereas the payroll taxes which most strongly affect lower-income workers are much less progressive, so even if you ignore the stupid federal income tax argument his point about paying no taxes is still a complete non-sequitur since all the poor people are paying payroll taxes, sales taxes, etc.
Errr,
He says aggregate not Brian and Anna, which you acknowledge. Im confused.
Then it's a pretty strange non-sequitur for him to add:
"However, according to the Tax Foundation, three-fifths of Americans believe that it is wrong for anyone to pay no taxes at all, that everyone should pay something to finance the government."
